Dream Islands
Dream Islands are special resource hub areas accessible early in the game. Each island is themed after a main region and provides exclusive materials not easily found in the overworld. Stardust — used for Star Pieces and online features — is found exclusively on Dream Islands.
How to Unlock
Befriend Drifloon on the west side of the Withered Wasteland beach, near the bridge to Palette Town. Build Drifloon's 'Riding Warm Updrafts' habitat by creating three lit campfires in a row. Once befriended, Drifloon gains the exclusive Dream Island specialty.
How to Use
Talk to Drifloon or interact with a doll in the overworld to summon Drifloon. Each doll type corresponds to a specific Dream Island. You can only visit one island type per day, but may revisit that same island multiple times within the same day. Materials do not respawn on revisits — wait until the next in-game day.
What You Can Do on Dream Islands
- Collect Stardust, fossils, Lost Relics, and Pokémetal
- Take Reference Photos of items to later duplicate them via the Pokémon Center 3D Printer
- Encounter and invite Legendary Pokémon to join your island
- Find Poké Balls and Music CDs
- Dolls can be obtained by breaking glowing blocks with Rock Smash, dowsing/digging, or trading with Pokémon that have the Trade specialty
